Ceramic artist Evelyn Taylor Bonner earned a BFA in Studio Arts/Ceramics (under David MacDonald) and Art Education from Syracuse University in 1990. She spent 4 years as a production tile and mosaic maker at the Moravian Pottery & Tile Works in historic Bucks County, PA, then returned to SU for an MS in Communications (Newhouse, TRF). Her career in Arts Marketing began with two years at the Philadelphia Museum of Art, then 15 years at the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts, during which time she established her "side hustle" ceramics business in 2006.
Since 2015, Evelyn has shown and sold her work at a rotating and robust calendar of seasonal craft shows along with a wide variety of gift shops and galleries throughout the region. She is also currently a teaching artist at Perkins Center for the Arts with both a weekly ceramics class for all skill levels, and outreach sessions through the Folklife & Traditional Arts at Home program funded in part through the New Jersey Council on the Arts.
Chris Bonner is an Associate Teaching Professor of Ceramic Arts at Penn State University Abington Campus. He has been a guest lecturer at Penn State Lehigh and Rutgers University, and has led firings with the Maryland Institute College of Art in the anagama wood-fire kiln he built in Bucks County. He is also an avid woodworker.
A native of South Jersey, Chris earned a bachelor’s degree in anthropology at Beloit College and a master’s degree in ceramics at Northern Arizona University. After 13 years as a mold maker at the Moravian Pottery & Tile Works in Doylestown, he spent 6 years on the team of international contemporary artist Jeff Koons.
